ATEX rated vacuums play a critical role in maintaining safety within explosive and hazardous environments, especially in spaces where even the smallest spark or buildup of combustible dust can be catastrophic. Engineered to comply with ATEX regulations, these specialist vacuums minimise the risk of ignition through anti-static components, controlled airflow, and certified electrical systems. skyVac’s ATEX certified equipment enhances safety by enabling powerful, high-level cleaning from the ground. Our ATEX equipment provides a safer, ore efficient approach to cleaning in explosive areas, helping businesses protect both employees and facilities, all while maintaining regulatory compliance.
What does ATEX mean?
ATEX stands for “ATmosphères EXplosibles”. It refers to two European Union directives that outline the minimum safety requirements for workplaces where a risk of explosion could be prominent due to the presence of gases, vapours, mists, or even dust. These requirements are essential to ensure both employees and equipment are protected when working in hazardous environments.
Within the cleaning industry, ATEX compliance is important because a great deal of industrial cleaning tasks involve working in or around potentially explosive atmospheres.
